ROBERT N. GRAY

Mr. Gray is a Shareholder and provides audit, accounting, and consulting services to a wide range of clients.  His 25 plus years of public accounting have given him extensive experience with government contracting and not-for-profit organizations.  Mr. Gray also has extensive experience with single audits and reporting under OMB Circular A-133.  

Before his association with R&M, Mr. Gray was a manager in the Washington, DC, office of Price Waterhouse & Co. (now PriceWaterhouseCoopers), where he had responsibility for planning and supervising audits for numerous clients.  He was also the partner in charge of audit services for another large local CPA firm located in Washington, DC.

Mr. Gray is responsible for managing the firm’s accounting and auditing practice.  He monitors R&M’s quality control system; coordinates the peer review process, interfacing with the reviewing CPA firm and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants; follows developments in accounting and auditing standards to assess the impact on R&M’s clients and staff; monitors developments in SEC regulations; and reviews the work of the R&M staff for compliance with the appropriate professional standards.  He has also been part of engagement teams, providing expert testimony in financial statement, auditing, and government contracting matters.

In addition to teaching auditing and accounting courses at George Mason University and George Washington University, Mr. Gray has given presentations on not-for-profit accounting and reporting issues and OMB Circular A-133 audit requirements.  He has written articles for various publications on such subjects as internal controls, financial statement analysis, budgeting, and cash management.  He is a member of the Greater Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants, Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, National Contract Management Association, and the Institute of Management Accountants.  Mr. Gray is a summa cum laude graduate of Villanova University.
