Rubino & McGeehin Announces Two Shareholder Appointments

Rubino & McGeehin is pleased to announce that two Rubino & McGeehin Senior Managers, Carolyn Quill and Patrick Curtis, will be promoted to the position of Shareholder on February 1, 2012.  Both Carolyn and Patrick are long time Rubino & McGeehin employees each having been with the firm 12 years. Carolyn has over 20 years of experience and  provides tax services to individuals, as well as, many types of  businesses and their owners.   Patrick specializes in the area of government procurement and provides auditing and consulting services to government contractors and those non-profit organizations with government grants.

Carolyn is responsible for all aspects of corporate, partnership, individual, fiduciary, and estate and gift tax returns.  In addition, she assists clients with estate and gift planning; representation in tax examinations; support with mergers and acquisitions; tax planning and transactional analysis.   In addition to being a CPA, Carolyn received a JD from the University of Denver, College of Law and a Masters of Law degree in Taxation from Georgetown University.  Carolyn  is active in the community and currently serves as the Treasurer of the Falls Church Education Foundation.

Patrick  works with a wide range of clients, including both large and small government contractors and grantees.  He is primarily responsible for recurring client services, specifically the management of audit and consulting engagements.  In addition to traditional financial statement audit services, Patrick performs audits under the requirements of OMB Circular A-133, audits of qualified pension plans and provides consulting services on any number of government contract or grant administration issues.  Patrick also demonstrates a commitment to community service and serves on the board of directors of the Community Action Council of Howard County.

Both Carolyn and Patrick are CPAs.  They are members of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Greater Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Maryland Society of Certified Public Accountants.  Carolyn is also a member of the American Bar Association and the Society of Certified Senior Advisors.
